After 17 years of absence… Al-Wasl is crowned champion of the United Arab Emirates President’s Cup at the expense of Al-Nasr

Shooting – The Al-Wasl team was crowned champion of the UAE President’s Cup, after beating Al-Nasr (4-0), today Friday, at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain , during the last match of the tournament.

Al-Wasl faced rivals Al-Nasr at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium pitch in a final which saw a large crowd attended by Emirati football fans.

This is the third time in its history that it has won the title, having been crowned champion in the 1987 and 2007 seasons.

While Shabab Al-Ahly and Al-Sharjah teams top the list of teams that won the UAE President’s Cup with 10 titles each.

Al-Wasl defeats Al-Nasr and wins the President’s Cup

Al-Wasl player Fabio Lima managed to score his team’s first goal against Al-Nasr. In the fifth minute of stoppage time in the first half, a penalty was scored.

While in the 54th minute Lima came back to score for the second time for him and his team, with a powerful shot inside the penalty area that penetrated the Al-Nasr net.

With just 10 minutes left, Al Wasl player Haris Seferovic scored his team’s third goal.

In the 82nd minute, Ali Saleh scored the fourth goal of Al Wasl club with great skill. After penetrating Al-Nasr’s defenses and firing a powerful ball into the Dean’s net.

Note that the final of the President’s Cup saw the expulsion of Senegalese Moussa Ndiaye, midfielder of the Al-Nasr club, in the 48th minute of the match.
