Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, President of Alexandria University, received Ambassador Nicholas Papagiorgio, Ambassador of Greece to Cairo, at the university headquarters in Shatby, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the University of Alexandria and Greek academic institutions.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Saeed Allam, University Vice-President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Hisham Saeed, University Vice-President for Postgraduate Studies and Research , from Dr. Sameh Shehata, University Office Supervisor. International Relations, Dr. Jihan Juifel, Assistant to the University President for International Affairs of the Academic Branch, and Dr. Naglaa Abu Ajaj, Vice Dean of the College of Arts for Graduate Studies and Research.

In his speech, the university president welcomed the Greek ambassador to Alexandria University, emphasizing his pride in the historical and strategic relations between the two countries. During the meeting, Dr Qanswa reviewed the university’s strategy to support applicable scientific research and knowledge. an economy based on the university’s technological incubator, the Alexandria University Technology Park, and striving to raise the level of education through the internationalization of education through degrees joint and dual with major American and European universities and foreign university branches in South Sudan and Chad, and establish branches of international universities of high rank and distinguished educational levels, in cooperation and coordination with the Alexandria University.

He highlighted the distinguished relations and cooperation protocols between the University of Alexandria and the Greek universities of Kapodistrian, Western Attica and Piraeus, highlighting the role of the Alexandria Center for Hellenistic Studies, established in the framework of joint cooperation between the University of Alexandria, the Library of Alexandria and the Greek Onassis and Vardinoyannis Foundations, expressing its aspiration for continued cooperation with Greek academic institutions in relevant scientific and research fields.

For his part, the Greek ambassador underlined his country’s desire to develop scientific and research cooperation with Egyptian academic organizations in general and the University of Alexandria in particular, taking into account the historical link between the two countries, praising the distinguished level of Alexandria University in various academic fields. highlighting the development of political relations between the two countries after the formation of the High-Level Cooperation Council, which is a natural development and a reflection of the political will of both sides to increase the volume and level of cooperation.
