Defendants in “Cabinet Incidents” case to be retried today

Today Sunday, the Second Anti-Terrorism Precinct of the Cairo Criminal Court, held at the Badr Judicial Complex, hears the retrial of the defendants in the case known in the media as the “Cabinet Incidents.”

The names of the accused at their retrial were: Amr Arabi Abdel Sattar, accused No. 23 in the referral order, Hussein Milad Hussein Al-Sayyid, accused No. 19 in the referral order, and Al-Hassan Ali Fahmy. Ziada, accused no. 8 in the referral order, who were sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment for the incidents of violence, arson and riots that occurred near the Councils of Ministers, the Assembly of the people, the Shura Council and the Scientific Academy.

The indictment included the referral of 269 defendants to the Cairo Criminal Court and 24 minors to the Children’s Court, accusing them of being involved in these events which left a number of dead and injured during violent incidents around the Council of Ministers.

The prosecution accused those accused in this case of provoking violence, fire and riots around the Council of Ministers, the People’s Assembly, the Shura Council and the Scientific Academy, in the case known in the media as the “Cabinet Incidents”. »
