Matta Bishai, chairman of the Internal Trade Commission of the Importers Division of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, confirmed that the decision of the Council of Ministers to close commercial stores at ten o’clock in the evening from next month presents many advantages, notably what is important is that it helps to significantly reduce electrical charges, especially in the current circumstances, since the decision helps to organize the lives of citizens and activate their work early in the morning.
Bishai added in a press release that the government had taken into account the closing hours of some shops, such as cafes and restaurants in coastal areas, given that tourist spots depend on their activity in the evening, especially in summer.
Bishai stressed that the decision contributes to increasing production and thus facilitates the buying and selling process for citizens, in addition to discipline and order in the Egyptian street, noting that one of the advantages of the decision is to preserve Egypt’s reputation among tourists, so that there is no randomness in the opening and closing of stores.
Matta Bishai said one of the most important benefits of an organized lockdown is that it allows security to function effectively to control crime.
He stressed that all countries apply this order to preserve consumption, and that the implementation of this decision is regulatory and not a restriction for traders, and that all European countries apply it, and that Egypt does not is not more prosperous.
Matta stressed that the decision will not cause material damage or losses to traders, as it regulates the movement of internal trade, but rather contributes to relieving pressure on road networks, reducing fuel consumption, reduce pollution and protect the environment.
He also emphasized that regulation has a positive impact on the economic situation, as it regulates the sales process and strengthens control over all economic activities.
