At the start of the meeting, the Minister of Higher Education highlighted the depth of bilateral relations between Egypt and Britain, welcoming the increase in bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of university education , highlighting the need to exchange scientific expertise between Egyptian universities. and their British counterparts, to strengthen expertise between the two parties.

Dr. Ayman Ashour highlighted that Egypt has experienced major growth in the fields of higher education and scientific research, as part of the implementation of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research. , emphasizing that many projects have been implemented in the public and private sectors. , technological and private universities and branches of international universities, in addition to academies and institutes, in addition to the continued development of existing universities, raising the status of Egyptian universities in international classifications and the continued development of programs, highlighting the interest of the Egyptian State in the matter of establishing branches of foreign universities of international prestige in Egypt, as one of the new and distinguished tributaries that provide opportunities for obtaining higher education at the international level through to global partnerships with leading international universities in Egypt, which contributes to improving teaching and research systems.

The minister stressed that the cooperation with the British University of Exeter is part of the ministry’s strategic plan to encourage the world’s top-ranked universities to cooperate with Egyptian universities, while benefiting from the expertise foreign, exchanging sciences and knowledge and enhancing opportunities to obtain distinguished foreign education and obtain international certificates from the university, in addition to contributing to attracting students from neighboring countries, benefiting from the availability of foreign education opportunities in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between Egyptian universities and the British University of Exeter, particularly in priority areas that serve the sustainable development plan (Egyptian Vision 2030), and to benefit from shared experiences in the fields of higher education. education and scientific research, particularly with regard to the connection between higher education and scientific research. Industry needs and labor market requirements, whether locally, regionally or internationally, as well as benefit from the University’s experience.
