Potential replacement for Gallardo: Milan close to snapping up candidate to coach Al-Ittihad

Shoot – Milan have chosen a new coach for next season, taking over from expected departure Stefano Pioli after the end of the remaining two rounds.

Many press reports have reported that Pioli will leave Rossoneri coaching at the end of the current season.

Pioli’s contract with the Rossoneri expires at the end of the current season, in June 2024, and negotiations have not been opened to renew his contract.

Milan are on the verge of removing a candidate to coach Al-Ittihad

Journalist Di Marzio reported that Milan intend to recruit Portuguese Paulo Fonseca, the current coach of Lille, to coach the team.

Rossoneri officials are placing Fonseca as the only name to negotiate with in order to coach the team as Pioli’s successor.

But French club Lille are committed to keeping Fonseca as head of the team’s technical management next season.

Fonseca’s contract with French club Lille expires at the end of the current season, but the club president will meet with him to try to renew the contract.

Milan are confident that Fonseca will choose to return to Italy after a successful spell with Roma in recent seasons.

Fonseca was among the candidates to train the brigadier general, succeeding the Argentinian Marcelo Gallardo, according to what the Al Kass channel indicated.

But the Portuguese coach wants to continue in the European championships next season.

Meanwhile, Gallardo’s name was rumored to be among the candidates to coach the Rossoneri next season.

However, Ibrahimovic rejected this option and the dean’s coach’s name was excluded from the list of candidates.

Under the leadership of Fonseca, Lille finished the season in fifth place and thus participated in the European League.

While the Rossoneri will participate in the Champions League next season, finishing in second place.
