Pyramids FC legal advisor Ahmed El-Washahi has called for the result of their match against counterpart Smouha to be considered a 2-0 victory.

The match between Smouha and its counterpart Pyramids was stopped 4 minutes into the second half, after the first half ended with a goal from each team. Smouha advanced with a goal after 15 minutes on a penalty taken by Hossam Hassan, then Pyramids equalized with a goal scored by Fiston Miley, while the referee in the 45th + 8th minute showed a red card against Smouha goalkeeper El Hani Suleiman before the match. was canceled due to a fire that broke out in one of the lighting poles of the main cabin on the playing field.

The legal advisor of Club Pyramides indicated, through an official statement published today Saturday, that the events that occurred during the club’s match against Smouha at the Alexandria stadium are the responsibility of the team that owns the land and the stadium, and that its legal responsibility here is an assumed responsibility that cannot be denied by proving that no error was committed.

Al-Washahi continued: “What happened in the match falls under the cases that require the team that owns the stadium to be considered defeated with a score of 2/0, and not among the cases of force majeure that lead to a replay of the match, and therefore, according to the regulations of the competition, the Smouha team should be considered defeated and the Pyramids club should be considered the winner with a score of 2/0, stressing that the situation is completely clear and simple and does not contain any complexity, conflict or diligence and does not require any further explanation, and the situation is a power outage and according to the text of the regulations, it is not considered a coercive circumstance.

Pyramids FC’s legal counsel indicated that the reason for the cancellation of the match was the poor lighting of the match as well as the power outage, and not force majeure circumstances, as one of the stadium’s lighting poles was damaged. malfunctioned due to power failure. with the consequence that visibility in the stadium became impossible and the appearance of “silhouettes” due to poor lighting,

Al-Washhani concluded his statements by saying: “Based on the established facts that occurred, Pyramids Club officially requested that Smouha Club be considered defeated in the match and that the club be considered the winner with a score of 2/0 in accordance with paragraph three/A of Article 42 of the Competition Regulations, which stipulates that in the event of a power outage, electricity for 45 minutes continuously or intermittently in matches played under lights or in cases of low lighting such that the match referee cannot finish the team that owns the stadium is considered defeated with a score of 2-0, regardless of the result of the match, and a power outage is not considered a coercive circumstance.
