Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, today held a meeting to monitor the status of projects being implemented as part of the development of the Great Transfiguration site in the city of Sainte-Catherine, in the governorate of South Sinai, in the presence of Dr. Assem Al-Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Public Services and Urban Communities, and Major General Hisham Amna, Minister of Local Development, Lieutenant General Mohamed Abbas Helmy, Minister of Aviation civil, of Dr Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. , Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture, and Major General Dr. Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai.

The Prime Minister’s meeting was also attended by Major General Walid Arif, Director of the Military Engineering Department (Armed Forces Engineering Authority), Major General Mahmoud Nassar, Head of the Central Reconstruction Agency, Major General Nabil Shaarawi, director of the Central Reconstruction Agency. Port Security Administration, Amr El-Qadi, Head of the Tourism Promotion Authority, and Major General Hani Farouk, South Sinai Security Directorate, as well as officials from several ministries and relevant authorities.

The Prime Minister began the meeting by noting the interest in the development of the site of the Great Transfiguration in the city of Sainte-Catherine on the part of President Abdel Fattah El-Sissi, President of the Republic, and the continued directives of His excellence. work to accelerate the completion of the various works which are implemented as part of this vast project, with a view to its upcoming opening, he underlined, which is part of a general development plan of the city of. Sainte-Catherine and place it in an appropriate position, in order to maximize its various tourist potentials which would contribute to attracting more tourist traffic, taking into account its archaeological, religious and environmental character.

The Prime Minister underlined the continuous monitoring of the executive position of the projects carried out in the city of Sainte-Catherine in general and on the site of the Great Transfiguration in particular, with the aim of highlighting this sacred place, which was honored by the manifestation of God, in his best image, in appreciation of his spiritual value and his role as an incubator for the three celestial religions.

Dr. Mustafa Madbouly stressed the importance of promoting the work carried out to develop the site of the Great Transfiguration and the elements it contains, through the launch of numerous media campaigns, leading to the completion of the various development works and the opening of this important site.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of quickly exploiting the completed hotels, as well as the eco-lodge, and expanding the offering of various services to visitors to this unique place, emphasizing the importance of completing the work in progress to develop the old town.

During the meeting, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly was informed of the latest developments concerning the various projects implemented as part of the development of the Great Transfiguration site in the city of Sainte-Catherine, and the deadlines for the completion of the remaining works on these projects, which include: the reception center, the development of Wadi al-Deir, the square and the Peace building, as well as the extension of the eco-lodge, the mountain hotel, tourist resort, tourist bazaar area, Zaytouna residential area, the new police complex, the new government complex, the social club, the development of the Bedouin housing area, the development of the heritage city center, the development of Wadi Al-Arbaeen and the creation of a recreational and tourism trail.

During the meeting, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly was tasked with working towards reviving the path of the Exodus of the “Children of Israel”, so that tourist trips could be organized on this path, coinciding with the completion of the development work on the Great Transfiguration site. He also led the intensification of propaganda and promotion of the path of the Exodus and this journey.

During the meeting, he also tasked the Minister of Communications to quickly strengthen mobile phone networks in the town of Sainte-Catherine, its surroundings and the road leading to the airport.

Regarding the promotion of the ongoing works to develop the site of the Great Transfiguration in the city of Saint Catherine, the governor of South Sinai explained that many trips will be organized for the project, including ambassadors, public figures and a certain number of men of thought, culture and art.

In this regard, Major General Dr Khaled Fouda called for works aimed at rapidly increasing the efficiency of a number of old hotels in the city, in proportion to the development works carried out, noting that there is 4 hotels which are currently coordinating with the Ministry of Tourism regarding improving their efficiency.

During the meeting, Amr Al-Qadi indicated that coordination was carried out with the United Media Services company to promote religious and tourist attractions in the city of Saint Catherine, stressing that an invitation was sent to a a number of international channels in this context. regard.

He added: We have started organizing press visits for many international journalists, during their visit to St. Catherine, and have started publishing news articles about the city, to promote the ongoing development work in this unique region.

The head of the Tourism Promotion Authority continued: At tourism exhibitions and during our meetings with tourism companies, we explain the importance of this city and its tourist destinations.

Major General Walid Arif also spoke during the meeting about the St. Catherine Airport Development and Expansion Project, which is being implemented by the Military Engineering Department of the Forces Engineering Authority armed forces, indicating in this regard that the airport development projects include 3 main components: the administrative and service area, and the passenger lounge area and the technical area.
