She appreciated this decision, which confirms the international consensus on the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, and called on the rest of the countries to quickly take the same decision, which would contribute to finding a reliable path to achieve a just peace and fair. lasting peace.

The Kingdom affirmed its appeal to the international community – and in particular – to the permanent members of the Security Council on the importance of accelerating the recognition of the Palestinian State on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, so that the Palestinian people can achieve their rights and achieve a comprehensive and just peace.

As for Jordan, it welcomed the decision of Norway, Spain and Ireland to recognize the State of Palestine, considering it “an important and fundamental step towards a two-state solution”.

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said: “We appreciate this decision and consider it an important and essential step on the path to the two-state solution, which embodies an independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the borders of the 4 June 1967.”

In turn, the Republic of Egypt, in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, welcomed the decision of the three European countries, saying that it is a “welcomed measure that supports international efforts aimed at create a political horizon leading to the creation of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. »

He called on countries that have not yet taken this step to “move towards recognition of the State of Palestine, in order to defend the values ​​of justice and equity, and to support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people who have suffered from the war. While Norway, Ireland and Spain announced their recognition of the State of Palestine on Wednesday, the number of European Union member states recognizing Palestine stands at 12 out of 27 countries.
